In the morning, Boyd, Donna and Acosta examine Roger's corpse while Donna and Patty brief Boyd on the previous night's events, which has left many in Colony House feeling unsafe. Donna warns that people will have difficulty coping with the news that the Talismans do not protect against everything. Sophia approaches, asking if the Totems worked on the Creatures, and he informs her that they did not. Ellis arrives, asking Boyd and Donna to come upstairs with him. Before they leave, Boyd instructs Acosta to burn Roger's body. Upstairs, Fatima explains to a skeptical Boyd how she could see through Smiley's eyes and stopped him from killing Kenny. At Ellis's urging, she adds that when seeing through Smiley's eyes, she felt cold, and that morning saw discolored veins on her abdomen.

Tabitha finds Ethan drawing pictures, which he says he is doing so he remembers everyone if they die and he is left alone like Victor. Tabitha tells him he should not be worried, but Ethan insists that he must be prepared.

While Ellis and Fatima head to the Clinic, Boyd meets Kenny and Jade at the Bar, where Jade displays his model of the map of the Tunnels. While Jade says he has numerous different plans, ranging from simple and dangerous to safe but complex to the point of impossibility, Boyd notices that there is only one way in or out of the chamber where the children's bones are buried. After confirming with Jade, he immediately calls the plan off, warning that once the enemy gained entry, they would be trapped. Boyd demands that he come up with a better plan, annoying Jade. As he walks away, Kenny admonishes him for not hearing Jade out, and asks what they will do now. Boyd suggests a scouting mission to look for alternative exits, unwilling to risk putting people in danger. As they talk, Boyd hallucinates the sound of gunshots, disturbing him. He leaves to meet Ellis and Fatima at the Clinic.

Henry walks into the Diner, where Bakta explains that they are going through the storage to find out what they can about the Man in Yellow. Henry asks for something to do, as he is worried that his drinking is starting to affect him. Bakta offers for him to help her prepare lunch, delighting him. Joni Mitchell's "Blue" begins playing on the Jukebox, flashing Henry back to when he and Tabitha heard the song on his car radio.

Outside Colony House, Roger's corpse is burned on a pyre. Patty reminisces to Sophia how things were always scary, but never used to be this bad, and expresses hope that Boyd is right about finding the bones. Sophia agrees, waving at Tabitha and Ethan as they arrive. They head up to Victor's room, where Tabitha demands that Victor tell Ethan that he will not be left alone, but Ethan asks Victor to teach him how to survive. Ethan, believing that the pattern might be repeating itself, begs his mother to let Victor teach him, and she relents.

At the Clinic, Kristi and Mari use the ultrasound on Fatima. They find no internal damage, and Kristi notes that were they in the normal world, she would diagnose Fatima with varicose veins from abdominal distension, but acknowledges that they are "well beyond a standard diagnosis." Fatima recalls that Boyd said that the Creatures used to be human, and worries that she may be turning into one of them. Ellis begins panicking, but Mari notes that this may not be a bad thing, as it allowed her to save Kenny. Ellis snaps at her, and the two begin arguing until Boyd and Kristi defuse the situation. They agree to keep Fatima under observation for a few days.

Meanwhile, Jade and Kenny struggle to come up with an alternative plan to access the chamber where the bones are buried. Kenny's efforts at helping are rebuffed by Jade. As he turns to leave, Jade asks him to help Boyd accept the fact that the plan may require that some people die. After Kenny refuses, Jade yells that the reason no one has escaped is because no has been willing to make hard decisions. Kenny asks Jade if he will be one of the people in the Tunnels making the hard decisions. When he does not answer, Kenny remarks it as he thought, and leaves. Jade then destroys his model of the Tunnels in anger.

Kristi finds Boyd outside the Clinic, and he admits that he is still experiencing hallucinations, and it is getting more frequent. As he tries to explain how he cannot lead if he cannot trust himself, he grows frustrated as he experiences another tremor. Kristi asks if the Visions are connected to the tremors, but he is unsure. Noticing that he is hiding something, Kristi asks what it is, and he admits that his hallucinations are connected to Abby. He recalls seeing her hands grab at him from her grave, and he keeps hearing gunshots. Boyd says he cannot fall apart at this crucial time, and asks Kristi to give him any medication that might help for a little bit longer. Kristi, apologetic, says that there might be nothing that she can do.

Sophia looks for Boyd in the Sheriff's Station. Finding it empty, she begins going through his things and retrieves the yellow suit from his cabinet. She then returns to the Myers' Home, where Sara angrily demands to know where she was the previous night. Sophia apologetically explains that she did not want to be in Town during Boyd's plan and stayed in Colony House. Sara asks what is in her bag, and after trying to evade the answer, Sophia says it's clothes, as she hoped new clothes would make her feel better, but the realization that they all belong to dead people and do not fit right made her feel worse. After she admits that she is not doing well, Sara tries to comfort Sophia, and offers to take her to the good stash of clothes that she knows of before heading off to help sort through the Diner's storeroom.

At the Clairy's Canned Goods Truck, Victor explains that the morning he found everyone dead, the Boy in White told him he would need three things to survive. The first was food, and the Boy led Victor to the truck, which was full of canned peaches, which he largely lived off for years. Victor tells Ethan that the worst part is the loneliness, as it makes everything scarier. The second thing the Boy told him was to pretend that he is not alone, and Victor pretended the boxes and walls were his friends. However, Ethan will not have to do that, as he is thought of something better, bringing them a teddy bear and a makeshift doll that represented his mother and sister, gifting them to Ethan, though he does not have anything for Jim yet. Tabitha gets angry at Victor, and assures Ethan that he will never be alone, as they will escape. Victor sadly notes that his mother said the same.

Sara leads the storeroom organization at the Diner while Henry chops lettuce for Bakta. When she accidentally spills a tray of metal trays, Henry is transported to the vision where he is in a hospital bed, and that a boy had spilled the tray. Noticing Henry is awake, the boy shouts for Victor, who informs him that he is in a care facility. Victor, dressed in a suit jacket and tie, informs his father that his mother got them acid for Henry's birthday a long time ago, but Henry had a bad reaction, and has been in the care facility since. Henry asks who the boy was, and Victor tells him that he is Sebastian, his grandson. Victor tells him that they are moving him into their home, and Eloise is on her way to see him. Henry says that this cannot be real as the vision fades away. Bakta notices Henry's expression, and asks if he is alright. He replies that he needs to leave and rushes off.

As Fatima prepares to head to the Clinic, she notices Ellis packing to join her. He says he does not want her to be alone, but she says this is not the true reason. Ellis explains that he cannot understand why Mari said her condition may be a good thing, but Fatima says it might be, noting that she was able to control a Creature, and could use this to their advantage. Ellis says he understands how she feels, and she interrupts him and bluntly tells him he does not understand how it feels to be as powerless as she was, with a Creature growing inside her. Now, she has a way to take control and fight back. Ellis retorts that he worries about what this may do to her, as if he loses her, there is no home for him to go to. He understands her wish to help and have control, but is frightened by this ordeal. Fatima hugs him, and warns him that if the worst is already happening, she needs to be able to take whatever good she can from it.

While Mari makes the beds at the Clinic, Kristi scolds her, telling her that what Mari told Fatima was out of line. Mari defends herself, saying that her timing may have been bad, but they must find every advantage they can. Kristi warns that the Township has a way of manipulating people into doing things they think will help, but Mari replies that it also makes them too terrified to do anything. Kristi adds that they have no idea what is happening to Fatima, and is unwilling to risk her safety to make them feel less afraid. She reminds Mari that Fatima is her patient, and if she has anything else to say, she should go through Kristi.

While Jade angrily rebuild his model, he recalls seeing the Symbol form above his head in the chamber. Meanwhile, Boyd and Kenny find the Sheriff's Station ransacked, with the yellow suit gone. Jade rushes in with the news that he has figured out how to get into the cavern: the Bottle Tree.

Sophia enters the the Lius' Home. Finding no one home, she wanders through the house, and finds Ethan's drawings of his family and friends, which she takes. At the Clairy's Canned Goods Truck, Tabitha tries to take Ethan home, but he wishes to stay. He asks her how she knows he will not end up alone, and she tells him that they know more now. She praises Miranda for her efforts to Victor, and adds that she knows how much she loved Victor and wanted him to get home. However, now that they have more answers because of her, they will be able to get home. Tabitha tells Victor that she thinks she also came back to free Victor in particular, and promises him and Ethan that neither will be alone.

Jade leads Boyd and Kenny to the Bottle Tree, and explains that in one of his visions, there was a hole in the ceiling, with roots forming the Symbol. Those roots became the Bottle Tree. Informing them that they are standing right above the cavern, Jade suggests they pull the tree out by its roots. While a team enters the Tunnels to reach the cavern, block the entrance and find the bones, another team will uproot the tree and pull them up. Boyd is hesitant, but Kenny thinks it could work. Boyd worries that they may not be able to uproot the tree in time to help the people in the cavern. Boyd says they need a Plan B, angering Jade, who says he came up with a viable alternative. Boyd refuses to risk peoples' lives without the certainty that they can escape.

As he walks away, he has a vision of Kenny following him, only to get shot in the chest. As he rushes to Kenny's side, he sees the dead bodies of Jade, Tabitha and Donna nearby. Looking further ahead, he sees Ellis's body, with Abby kneeling next to it. When he calls her name, she turns and opens her mouth, only for blood to come pouring out. As the vision disappears, he shouts, asking what they want from him.

Henry approaches Miranda and Eloise's graves. He recalls how she was always the smart and spiritual one, and asks if his Visions could be real. He notes that his brain getting fried from the acid makes more sense than the Township, and everything is so nice in his Visions, where they have a grandson with Miranda's eyes, and Eloise is alive. Weeping, he asks again if the Visions are real, and if he is getting closer to reaching that reality. Praying for her to help him, he begins hearing "Blue" and the heart monitor. Once again finding himself in the hospital bed, Victor says that playing the song is working, recalling how it was his father's favorite. The Doctor tells him that he needs to focus, as he is getting stronger, but there are things he needs to do if he is to stay with them. She warns him that he has been living in the delusion for so long that he believes it is real. He has to forcibly disconnect from whatever is anchoring him to that version of reality by eliminating the anchor. The song stops playing as Sebastian loses service, and Henry finds himself standing by his family's graves again. With the Vision gone, he begs for it to return, asking how he can "forcibly disconnect.," and begins sobbing.

At the Clinic, Kristi examines Fatima, who is experiencing no dizziness or shortness of breath, and the cold sensation has gone. She asks Mari if she thinks it is really possible for her to control this. Mari says it is possible and she has a few ideas for how they can test it when Kristi pulls her aside. As Mari angrily says that Fatima wants to help, Kristi tells her that Fatima's blood pressure if 53 over 33, and her heart rate is 19 beats per minute, making it medically impossible for her to be alive.

As Tabitha, Ethan and Victor return to their house, Ethan asks if they can go to Colony House to check on Donna Raines. Tabitha lets him go, but when she enters the house, the phone begins ringing. Picking it up, a child's voice on the other end says he is Thomas. Asking what he wants, "Thomas" instructs her to go to the RV, or he will hurt Julie and Ethan.

When Boyd returns to the Sheriff's Station, he finds Father Rudra Khatri on the stoop, and the Priest tells him that there is no version of Jade's plan that will be good enough for him. Inside, Khatri tells him to get over killing his wife. as he did what he did because he had no other choice, and nothing else could have been done. He also needs to accept that no matter how good their plan is, they will likely lose some people in the Tunnels. Khatri warns the Township will begin pushing back even harder, and Boyd must make his stand. The goal has to be saving as many as he can, not saving everyone. He may lose a few people in the Tunnels, but he will save many more. Khatri disappears, leaving Boyd to stew in anger.

At the RV, Tabitha finds Ethan's drawings stuck to the wall. The Man in Yellow appears, thanking her for coming. He asks her if she knows who he is, but realizes she has not remembered that part yet. Cheerfully informing her that Jim died where she is standing, the Man in Yellow informs her that he really liked Jim, and kept one of his teeth as a keepsake. She asks if he is going to kill her, but he tells her that she is the closest thing to a friend he has. He says that she and Jade are doing so well this time, and he would not dream of killing her at this point. Asking again why she is here, he grabs her throat and answers that they are about to do something they have never done before by digging up the children's bones in all the times they have gone through this cycle. He tells her that they may have found the key to escaping, or they will unleash unimaginable suffering. He lets her go, telling her that he has missed her and will see her again soon, kissing her hand before leaving.
